From when do I have to issue electronic invoices?
Large companies and mid-caps have been issuing since 1 September 2026; SMEs and micro-enterprises follow on 1 September 2027. Being able to receive has applied to every business since 1 September 2026, whatever its size.
Where do my invoices travel, and how do I choose a PDP?
Through a partner dematerialisation platform (PDP), registered with the tax administration. The PPF has not been an exchange channel since October 2024: it acts as directory and data concentrator. With Informer the connection is already made.
Which formats are accepted?
Factur-X (the hybrid PDF with embedded XML), UBL and CII, all compliant with EN 16931. Informer generates them automatically. Peppol BIS, used in Belgium, is not the format required in France.
What about my sales to consumers or abroad?
Those fall outside domestic e-invoicing and come under e-reporting instead: the data from these B2C and cross-border transactions goes to the tax administration, on the same timetable.
What penalties apply if I am not compliant?
Since 21 February 2026, law 2026-103 provides for a fine per invoice sent outside the electronic channel and one per missing e-reporting transmission, each capped per year. A first breach corrected within 30 days is not fined.
Can I import my old invoices?
Yes. Whether you used Excel, Word or another tool, simply upload your existing sales and purchase invoices and keep your whole administration in one place.
