Do I have to issue e-invoices in Austria?
Towards federal bodies yes, over USP and Peppol since 2014. There is no general B2B obligation in Austria. The EU obligation for cross-border B2B follows on 1 July 2030.
Can I import my old invoices?
Yes. If you have used Excel, Word or another tool for invoicing so far, you can simply upload your existing invoices: your whole invoicing history then sits in one place.
Do I have to invoice foreign customers electronically?
Not yet. From 1 July 2030 structured e-invoices become mandatory for cross-border B2B within the EU. Until then you invoice as before, in multiple languages and currencies.
Which format do I need in Austria?
ebInterface is the Austrian standard, alongside Peppol BIS for sending within the EU. XRechnung and ZUGFeRD are German formats and are not required in Austria.
