Documents are transferred directly from one invoicing system to another: legally sound under German law, and safer and faster than an email attachment.
Your books are hosted in the EU
All data is stored securely on AWS servers in Frankfurt, 100 % GDPR compliant. Only AI features you switch on yourself can involve temporary processing outside the EEA. See the question below.

Where is my data held?

In data centres in Germany. That means it is subject to German law and the GDPR.

What can AI do with my data?

Your data is only used for AI features if you switch them on yourself via the opt-in toggle. For those features we work with external AI providers under a data processing agreement (DPA).

Two things are important to know. AI can make mistakes: always check results yourself before relying on them. And although a DPA is in place, data may be temporarily processed or stored on servers outside the European Economic Area. We take appropriate measures for this. If you switch on no AI features, your books stay entirely within the EU.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

You can export your data. To meet the statutory retention periods, retention can be continued for a small monthly fee.

Is sending via Peppol safer than by email?

Yes. Peppol is a closed network with verified participants, whereas an email with a PDF attachment is easy to forge.
